Nollywood actor Olanrewaju Omiyinka, popularly known as Baba Ijesha, has spoken out publicly for the first time following his release from prison, alleging that he was framed in the case that led to his conviction.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel titled “Eniwaye Dáràn,” the actor addressed the controversy surrounding the 2021 incident in which actress Princess accused him of sexually assaulting her 14-year-old foster daughter.

“My trust was betrayed. I ended up in Kirikiri prison because of a woman. She asked them to silence me so that my voice would not be heard. Please listen to my own side of the story,” he said.

According to Baba Ijesha, the event that eventually led to his arrest happened on April 21, 2021. He claimed that Princess invited him to her home, telling him that she had prepared his favourite meal.

He also alleged that he was informed about a movie role that was supposedly waiting for him.

However, the actor said he later realized there was no film project and believed the circumstances had been arranged in a way that ultimately led to his arrest.

“Please, my fans, be careful with friends. They cannot be trusted. The world is evil, and human beings are more wicked than venomous snakes,” Ijesha added.

His statement has triggered mixed reactions across social media, with many people revisiting the controversial case and expressing different views about his claims.

Baba Ijesha regained his freedom in November 2025 after serving a three-year prison sentence following the widely publicised case that shook the Nigerian entertainment industry.
