After the second town hall style presidential debate, Barack Hussain Obama won the the fierce battle of wits.
Obama is perceived to have flunked the first debate; however, the CNN post debate poll shows that 47% of Americans believe that Obama did better second time out, against 39% who says Romney came out top.
At the debate held at Horsfta University,New York, the incumbent was clearly the better showman and at his vintage.
Unlike the below par performance which was his hallmark in the first debate, Obama was more aggressive and made sure he counteracted Romney’s claims, the want of doing this was his major undoing in the first debate which was aired a week ago.
The debate was keenly contested by both parties, at times it seem there was a shouting match.
Obama tried to convince the 82 undecided voters and who made up the audience and the larger public that he had revived the economy which was o driven to the brink of collapse by a Republican president, created more than 5 million jobs in the last 31 months, cutting taxes for the middle class and was ready to improve on this modest gains in his second term.
Romney on his part tried convincing them that Obama’s policies had more than quadrupled budget deficit, made China outsmart America in trade, seen to the fact that more American are now unemployed with figures at 23 million, and that he would do a better job if given the chance.
The next and last debate in the series comes up in Florida next Monday.
