Nollywood actor Jerry Williams has reportedly been arrested by Nigerian security operatives under unclear circumstances.
According to film producer Stanley Ontop, the arrest occurred on July 21, 2025, at Jerry’s residence and was allegedly orchestrated by tech personality Nwafor Franklin, popularly known as Izutech.
Stanley expressed serious concern, stating that Izutech should be held responsible if anything happens to the actor.
He also revealed that by the time he got to Jerry’s residence, the arrest had already been carried out. All efforts to follow the individuals involved using his vehicle were unsuccessful.
“Before I reached Jerry’s apartment, they had already left. I chased them with my car yet, I didn’t see them,”
the producer wrote in his post.
It’s important to note that Jerry Williams has previously faced challenges with substance abuse, which led to his indefinite suspension from the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) in June 2023. The AGN at the time cited both personal safety and safety of others on set as reasons for the suspension.
