A prominent businessman in the aviation sector has addressed the ongoing rumors about Nigerian musicians owning private jets. His comments came after a viral video featuring a fan of Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy, suggesting that the artist has his own private aircraft.
In the post, the fan wrote, “Burna Boy getting off his private jet last night in Abuja. ✈️”
The businessman, known as @LaceVine and co-founder of a private jet charter company, responded by stating that no musicians in the Nigerian music industry actually own private jets. Instead, he explained that most artists rely on charter services for their travel needs.
“Nobody owns a jet in the Nigerian music industry. It’s all charter, except for Davido, who uses his dad’s jet,” he clarified.
He emphasized that his comments were not meant to disrespect any artist but to provide clarity on the situation. “There’s no intention to shade anyone with this tweet. Renting a jet is not fake life; it’s not cheap,” he added.
His remarks have ignited discussions online, with fans and critics sharing their views on the lifestyles of Nigerian musicians.
One X user, @odogwu_joeblaq, commented, “We know. Many are just surprised you brought a certain artist’s business into the open. But all is well.”
Another user, @onlyonefabzofph, remarked, “We’re aware of this already, but I thought they said Davido bought a private jet worth billions of naira 😂😂💔💔 and that he has another one, including the one his father gave him, making it three jets in total 😂😂💔💔.”
