Reno Omokri, a former presidential aide and lawyer, has sparked outrage online after claiming that no Nigerian requires more than 100,000 per week.

Remember that the Nigerian Central Bank recently passed legislation limiting weekly withdrawals to #100,000 beginning in January 2023.

Reno, who took to Twitter to support this motion, stated that “no Nigerian needs more than 100k cash weekly.”

Furthermore, he stated that, aside from transportation, all other forms of payment can be made online.

He did, however, point out that the policy is against “bandits and sexual bandits.”

He wrote:

“There is no Nigerian that needs more than ₦100k cash weekly. Other than paying bus conductor or buying groceries, everything can be done cashless. It is kidnappers, bandits and sexual bandits (urgent 2k girls) who are fighting this policy using political godfathers “
