The Gombe State governor, Muhammadu Yahaya, has issued an order requiring the immediate closure of neighborhood nightclubs known as “Gala Houses” throughout the state.
The decision was made in response to numerous public concerns about the detrimental effects that these businesses were having on the neighborhood.
The decree, published through a statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Njodi, highlights the need to combat the escalating incidences of immoral behavior, criminal activity, and security breaches related with these nightclubs.
Governor Yahaya has mobilized the Nigeria Police, the Nigeria Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Operation Hattara to deploy their personnel and guarantee strict adherence to the instruction in order to ensure the closure is effectively enforced. and Operation Hattara must make their staff available and guarantee that the instruction is strictly followed.
By putting a halt to actions that placed the wellbeing of the state’s residents in danger, the governor demonstrated his commitment to protecting the safety and moral standards of the state.For the avoidance of doubt, the Gala Houses that are impacted are Jami’a Gidan Wanka, White House Theatre (Babban Gida), Gidan Lokaci General Merchant, and Farin Gida Entertainment II. They are all situated at Mile 3 Yola Road, Gombe, Mile 3 Reservoir Road, and Wuro Karal, Kalshingi Road, respectively.
Others affected include Tauraren Wash at Trailer Park, Bauchi Road, Gombe, Albarka Entertainment at Wuro Karal, Bypass near Hara Form, Gombe, Gala Houses at Kuri Town, Lubo village, and Kurba village, all in Yamaltu Deba Local Government Area.
