He made this commitment shortly after officially taking over the role, stressing that restoring peace and stability nationwide is a top priority.
Musa highlighted that strengthening the defence sector and boosting collaboration among the armed forces, security agencies, and the general public will form the foundation of his approach.
Security Requires Unity
He noted that safeguarding the nation is a shared duty, explaining that improved cooperation will be crucial in tackling insecurity more effectively. Musa also thanked Nigerians for their overwhelming support and promised to work tirelessly to ensure the country becomes safe enough for people to sleep peacefully, return to their farms, and attend school without fear.
Aligning with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda
The Minister also met with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who reaffirmed the administration’s focus on prioritising national security. Musa assured Nigerians that he is fully aligned with this vision and pledged that the impact of their efforts will become evident soon.
He said:
“My immediate priority is to make sure that defense takes its place fully in the country. The synergy between the armed forces and other security agencies And all Nigerians being carried along, as we have always said, that security is everybody’s responsibility. It is that synergy that we need to build on and work on it, and that’s what we’re going to. And I can assure you within the shortest possible time, Nigerians will see results. I want to use this medium to appreciate all Nigerians. Nigerians have shown me love, and I will guarantee them that I am going to work whatever it takes to ensure that Nigeria is secured, working together. Thank you very much.”
