A group of Nigerians living abroad has stirred reactions online after a video surfaced showing them vibing to Eedris Abdulkareem’s controversial track “Tell Your Papa,” despite its recent ban by the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC).

It will be recalled that the NBC officially prohibited Nigerian radio and TV stations from airing the song, stating it violated the country’s broadcast decency guidelines.

In a memo dated April 9, 2025, and signed by Susan Obi, the Coordinating Director of Broadcast Monitoring, the song was classified as “Not To Be Broadcast (NTBB)” under Section 3.1.8 of the Nigeria Broadcasting Code, which restricts content deemed offensive, inappropriate, or contrary to public decency.
