Popular Nigerian content creator and TikTok live streamer Jarvis has voiced her frustration with her relationship with fellow streamer Peller, hinting that she may be reaching her breaking point.
During a candid TikTok Live session with colleague Sandra Benede, Jarvis disclosed that being with Peller has pushed her to compromise her personal values and brand identity. She shared that she often finds herself participating in content she doesn’t align with, simply to keep the peace or show love, even after expressing her discomfort beforehand.
Jarvis expressed disappointment that despite her sacrifices, she feels like she’s the one bearing the brunt of public backlash and losing credibility, while Peller seems to remain unaffected.
She further noted that the public perceives her as being in competition with him, suggesting that as a woman, she’s expected to remain in the background.
“In the beginning, it was difficult accepting his character. Now I have tolerated so many things that do not suit my brand, things I don’t like doing, things I haven’t done, but I have done it with him online. Even before we post something online, I complain that I don’t like it. Let’s find something else, but he will beg me and I will do it out of love. And when he posts it, dragging everywhere.
Who is losing value? Is it me or him? Na woman go dey lose value now, man dey lose value? He can go to his village tomorrow and marry one of his Ikorodu sisters, life moves on. But the lady is the one that will be disgraced. They even said I’m doing competition. Like, they feel I am not supposed to do what he does.”
Her statement has sparked a wider conversation about gender expectations, emotional labor in relationships, and the pressures female creators face in the public eye.
