Field teams from the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice (Haia) have arrested two foreigners for practicing black magic and sorcery in Makkah, sabq.org , an electronic paper reported.
According to the paper, the two expatriates, a 62-year-old Sudanese resident and 74-year-old Nigerian who had come for Umrah last Ramadan, practiced black magic on Mansour Street in Makkah, according to complaints filed with the Haia center in Hafair.
The Sudanese resident, nicknamed “lame,” used to ask for three live, home-bred chickens, a bottle of perfume and SR250 in cash to cast a spell and another SR1,000 when the spell was complete, the paper said.
The Sudanese admitted that he learned the magic trick from his father, a member of the Tijaniyyah sect, and later trained more than 10 magicians of Sudanese and Nigerian backgrounds
