A Nigerian man has taken to his Twitter handle to express his disappointment at security agents in Nigeria following the abduction of his father who is a retired Army officer.
In a Twitter thread, @redlion_tw mentioned that his father served in the Army for 35 years and represented Nigeria in peacekeeping tours in Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Sudan before his retirement. He said his dad was recently kidnapped from his country home and that after paying ransom twice, his father is yet to be released by the abductors.
The distraught man said efforts to get the police to help have proved abortive. According to him, the police told him they cannot guarantee his father’s safe release and that he should just ‘Hope and Pray’.
