The Nigeria Football Federation on Wednesday in Abuja confirmed Tom Saintfeit as the technical director for Nigeria. The Belgian was given a four-year contract.
According to a communiqué signed by executive committee member of the NFF, Emeka Inyama, Saintfeit will earn a monthly salary of $20,000. The board meeting chaired by the NFF President Alhaji Aminu Maigari also retained John Obuh as coach of the country’s U-20 team, the Flying Eagles. He will keep his post along with his technical crew who led Nigeria to win the African Youth Championship in South Africa last year. The assistants are Abimbola Samuel, Yakubu Maidagin and Suleiman Shuaibu (goalkeepers’ trainer).
The technical sub-committee’s recommendation for the appointment of Mr. Kadiri Ikhana as coach of the senior women’s team, the Super Falcons, was also approved. He will work with Justin Madugu, Rita Nwadike, Charity Enweren (assistants) and Bala Mohammed (goalkeepers’ trainer).
Meanwhile, Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi on Tuesday night departed for the United States for a short break with his family. He will join the Eagles in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on April 9, for the game that will be played on April 12 against Egypt at the same venue.
