The 6 Division of the Nigerian Army has dismantled 20 illegal oil refining sites, seized 90,000 litres of stolen products, and arrested eight suspects during a week-long operation in Rivers, Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom, and Delta States.
Troops uncovered and destroyed refining infrastructure, intercepted boats used for oil theft, and confiscated stolen crude and refined products. Key operations targeted areas like Buguma, Degema, and Omoku in Rivers State, and Biseni Forest in Bayelsa, among others.
Major General Jamal Abdussalam commended the troops and urged the public to provide intelligence to support security in the region.
