President Bola Ahmed Tinubu mentioned that when he assumed power in 2023, the nation was in a state of crisis, but his government has been successful in putting an end to the crisis. He emphasized the need for a more efficient local government system that promotes community development and provides essential governance services within a reinforced federal structure.
During a meeting with a delegation of the Yoruba Leaders of Thought at the State House, Tinubu expressed that governance must be transformative and address the critical needs of citizens. He acknowledged that his administration has faced challenges over the past year but emphasized that they are being dealt with effectively.
Tinubu assured that Nigeria is no longer in a state of crisis and is moving towards prosperity. He also mentioned that his administration will ensure that every kobo spent delivers value for Nigerians, leaving a lasting legacy of prosperity for future generations and removing the burden of poor governance.
Additionally, Tinubu emphasized the need to strengthen leadership across all levels of government and institutions and reiterated his commitment to promoting fiscal federalism and enhancing inclusion and equity for all Nigerians.
