The Super Eagles had finished in 28th position in May.

The Super Eagles started the year in 52nd spot and moved to 30th spot in February after their Afcon triumph. They fell to 31st place in April but rose to 28th in May and have now dropped again.

They played out a 2-2 draw with Mexico on May 31. Wednesday’s victory over Kenya in a competitive 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier is expected to impact on the next release in July.

They will also play against Namibia next week as well as the Confederations Cup in Brazil, all matches that will impact on their ranking for next month.

Cote D’Ivoire remain the highest ranked African team in 13th place, a spot lower than last month’s. They are followed by Ghana who gained one place in 21st position while Mali also gained three places to finish in 23rd position.

The top team in the world is Spain.
