Dr.Jonathan made the vow while speaking in Abuja at the 52nd  independence anniversary interdenominational service held at the National Christian Centre, Abuja.

He affirmed that “Nigeria will soon overcome every other challenge facing the country, including insecurity.”

Present at the service was the former military Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon, who is now a prayer warrior, and he again called on Nigerians to shun blackmail and assist the administration to achieve the transformation agenda.

He flagged off the one year prayer project for Nigeria, to overcome the challenges that face the country as a developing nation.

However, for the president of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Mr Ayo Oritsejafor, the nation’s prayers will not be answered as he urged Nigerians to “turn from their wicked ways if the country’s prayers must be answered.”

The one year prayer project for Nigeria, was used to seek prayers against moral decadence, indiscipline and corruption, poverty invasion, unemployment, natural disaster, insecurity, terrorism, conflict and unrest, as the nation marks it 52nd independence anniversary.

Meanwhile, former president Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has extended his best wishes to Nigerians as the country celebrates its independence anniversary.

President Obasanjo who was among dignitaries at this year’s inter-denominational church service wished Nigerians, the brightest and most pleasant season wherever they are.
