American hip-hop star Nicki Minaj has once again used her platform to condemn the ongoing violence in Nigeria, specifically calling for the protection of Christians.
The Statement
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), the rapper shared a message rooted in her faith, demanding an immediate halt to the attacks.
She wrote:
“On Christ the solid rock I stand. All other ground is sinking sand. All other ground. FREE THE CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA. STOP THIS NOW.”
The post immediately sparked widespread discussion online regarding the persistent insecurity and the debates surrounding religious freedom in the nation.
A Recurring Advocacy
This is the second time Minaj has publicly addressed this crisis. In November, she participated in a United Nations-related briefing where she argued that Christians were being persecuted solely because of their mode of worship. She described communities living in fear, with homes destroyed and families separated, and also thanked President Donald Trump for highlighting the issue.
Government Stance
Despite these international calls, the Federal Government of Nigeria maintains that the violence is not religiously motivated. Authorities have consistently attributed the unrest to banditry and terrorism rather than faith-based targeting. Nevertheless, Minaj’s intervention has once again drawn global scrutiny to the situation.
