The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has shown support for Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali by donating ₦20 million to assist with the burial expenses of his late parents.
Nwabali recently faced a devastating double loss, first mourning the death of his father, and just months later, the passing of his mother. These consecutive tragedies have left the football star in a period of intense grief.
The NFF previously extended condolences after his father’s death, with NFF Secretary General Mohammed Sanusi noting that the loss of a parent is a deeply painful experience. Following the news of his mother’s passing, the federation once again sent heartfelt sympathies and encouraged him to remain strong.
Out of respect and compassion, Nwabali has been granted leave from national duties and was excused from the Super Eagles’ trip to Russia.
Football media personality @PoojaMedia revealed the federation’s donation in a post, stating:
“NFF has supported Super Eagles GK, Stanley Nwabali with N20m for his parents burial ceremony. He was excused for the Russia trip cos of this.”
