Mixed responses have followed the recent 2024 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards, AMVCA, after the film ‘A Tribe Called Judah’ by actress Funke Akindele failed to win any awards. The AMVCA held its 10th edition on Saturday at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos. The most talked-about part of the event was Funke Akindele’s movie ‘A Tribe Called Judah,’ which was widely rejected despite being groundbreaking. “Breath Of Life” was the night’s biggest winner, receiving six awards, including Best Movie, Best Sound Design, Best Director (BB Sasore), Best Lead Actor (Wale Ojo), Best Supporting Actor (Ademola Adedoyin), Best Supporting Actress (Genoveva Umeh), and Trailblazer (Chimezie Imo), according to DAILY POST. On the other hand, “A Tribe Called Judah” was the first Nigerian film to gross over N1 billion at the box office in December last year but failed to win any of its five nominations. As expected, the rejection of the highest-grossing Nigerian movie has sparked a frenzy on social media.
