The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has officially called on the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police to launch a thorough investigation into an incident involving popular musician King Wasiu Omogbolahan Olasunkanmi Adewale Ayinde Marshal, better known as K1 De Ultimate, and domestic airline ValueJet.
The event, which occurred on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, reportedly disrupted normal airline operations and sparked concerns over passenger conduct and adherence to aviation safety procedures.
In its statement, the NCAA revealed that preliminary investigations indicate K1 De Ultimate may have violated Nigeria’s civil aviation regulations during ValueJet flight VK201. The agency has requested a full criminal probe and legal action in accordance with the Nigeria Civil Aviation Regulations (Nig. CARs) 2023 and other applicable laws.
Additionally, the Director General of Civil Aviation, Capt. Chris Najomo, has advised the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON) to consider placing K1 De Ultimate on a No-Fly List for all commercial flights until the investigation is concluded. This move, the NCAA noted, aligns with international aviation standards that prioritize the safety of passengers, crew members, and flight operations.
The authority reiterated its commitment to protecting the integrity of Nigeria’s aviation industry, stressing that all passengers—regardless of social standing or public image—must comply with the same rules when traveling within the country’s airspace.
