State Security Service operatives at the Muritala Muhammed International Airport arrested and detained  the former Minister of the FCT, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, who was travelling to Dubai this afternoon.

Minutes later via the same twitter handle El-Rufai tweets that he has been released and that is confistcated travelling documents had been handed back to him.

 

Although he didn’t state the reason for his arrest, we guess it be connected with some of his recent remarks against President Goodluck Jonathan’s government.

 

In the tweet after his release he once again lampooned the government for its inability to combat the security challanges facing the nation.
