Simi Oluwaseyi, the sister of Naomi, the estranged wife of the Ooni of Ife, has shared an update regarding her sister’s arrest and health condition after she reportedly collapsed while in detention.
Naomi was arrested in connection with a tragic stampede in Ibadan that claimed 35 lives.
In a series of posts on her Instastories, Similoluwa expressed condolences to the families of the deceased children while raising alarm over her sister’s deteriorating health.
She disclosed that Naomi collapsed on the third day of interrogation by the Department of State Services (DSS) and was subsequently rushed to the hospital.
Similoluwa also revealed that before Naomi’s court arraignment, medical tests showed her blood pressure was dangerously high. Additionally, Naomi had been denied access to her phone or any contact with her family throughout her detention.
A portion of her post read:
“I deeply sympathize with the families of the children who lost their lives. My sister was arrested and detained for over six days, collapsing on the third day of interrogation by the DSS and being rushed to the hospital.”
