Nollywood actress Nancy Isime responded nonchalantly to backlash from the Muslim community concerning her upcoming movie project. Recently, Nancy shared promotional photos on Instagram, featuring herself in a niqab and holding a gun, along with another cast member wearing a hijab in a robbery scene.
The Muslim community criticized Nancy for what they perceived as disrespect toward their religion, expressing concern about the misuse of the niqab and hijab in the movie, which they felt was contrary to their values.
In response, Nancy posted new photos on Instagram, with captions emphasizing her commitment to peace and her personal goals. She stated that she avoids drama and gossip, chooses to remain peaceful, and does not let others’ opinions bother her.
In her words;
“Really out the way. In my own world. No drama, no gossip. Just goals and money. Peace is where I’m at.
“I don’t bother nobody & I’m not bothered by nobody. That’s my peace. To protect my peace, I stopped taking other people’s projected opinions personally.
“Reminder: Your light often highlights other people’s insecurities and shortcomings, which they will then project back to you as a flaw. It’s a coping mechanism. Attacking you makes them feel safer.
