Eleven presidential candidates and their running mates will contest the 2015 general elections, a statement from the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Kayode Idowu,, has revealed.
He made this known in a statement released on Thursday.
Names of the contestants and their parties are:
Peoples Democratic Party (PDP): President Goodluck Jonathan and his vice presidential running mate, Namadi Sambo.
All Progressives Congress (APC): Muhammadu Buhari and Yemi Osinbajo as presidential and vice presidential candidates.
Kowa Party: Oluremi Sonaiya and his vice presidential running mate, Saidu Bobboi
Hope Democratic Party: Ambrose Albert and his vice presidential running mate, Haruna Shaba
Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN): Ganiyu Galadima and his vice presidential running mate, Balarabe Ahmed
Alliance for Democracy (AD): Rafiu Salau and his vice presidential running mate, Clinton Cliff Akuchie
United Democratic Party (UDP):Godson Okoye and his vice presidential running mate, Alhaji Haruna Adamu
African Democratic Congress: Mani Ibrahim Ahmad and his vice presidential running mate, Obianuju Murphy-Uzohue
National Conscience Party (NCP): Martin Onovo and his vice presidential running mate, Ibrahim Mohammed
Action Alliance: Tunde Anifowoshe-Kelani and his vice presidential running mate, Paul Ishaka Ofomile
United Progressive Party: Chekwas Okorie and his vice presidential running mate, Bello Umar
