A few weeks after the loss of Mohbad, a former Nigerian musician signed to the same label, Marlian Music CEO Naira Marley announced his return to Lagos, Nigeria, in a message to the public.
Mohbad had previously asserted in numerous videos that Marlian Music employees and some of the label’s affiliates had mistreated and violently attacked him.

A previous video also showed Mohbad appearing to back away from Nigerian actor Sam Larry.
There have been rumors linking Marlian Music to the tragedy since Mohbad’s passing, however as of the time of this story, there is no proof to back up those assertions.
Naira Marley, the CEO of Marlian Music, has announced Mohbad’s return to Nigeria in the middle of continuing inquiries to ascertain the cause of his demise.
He declared in his statement, “I’d like to communicate that I just returned to Lagos, Nigeria, to help the law enforcement with the ongoing investigation. I must contribute in some way to help Imole. In the hopes that the truth will be revealed and justice will be done, I will be meeting with the police.
