An annual carnival in Port Harcourt sparked outrage as hundreds of young people took to the streets to show off their dogs.
A video circulating on social media depicted a dog work session, which is said to be common in Rivers State’s capital and largest city.
Youths came out in droves, carrying various breeds of dogs and blasting music from both ends.
The said carnival, on the other hand, took many people from other parts of the country by surprise because the tradition seemed foreign to them.

Reacting to the viral video, some social media users applauded the culture while others blatantly term it unnecessary.
“Some people no dey watch pass African magic….overseas there are lots of dog shows and more, besides the breeds most of them are holding are imported, so it’s nice to take a walk,” a social media user wrote.
Another user added, “After una go dey blame Buhari if he insult us😂😂😂 e no Dey pass Mainland people 😂😂.”
