Known widely for his role in the hit K-drama The Moon Embracing the Sun, the actor was found dead in his apartment. According to the Korean media outlet Soompi, he was discovered on November 12 in his home in Seoul’s Seongdong district.
A two-page letter was reportedly found at the scene, but the contents have not been disclosed. While the official cause of death has not been confirmed, there is speculation that it may have been a suicide. However, authorities have noted there were “no signs of foul play,” and a comprehensive investigation is ongoing.
Song Jae-Rim’s funeral will take place on November 14 at a funeral home in Yeouido, where family, friends, and fans are expected to gather to pay their last respects.
Jae-Rim began his career as a runway model, gracing the covers of numerous magazines before shifting to acting in 2009. His breakout role came in 2012 with The Moon Embracing the Sun, after which he appeared in films such as Give Me Back My Cat, Grand Prix, The Suspect, On Your Wedding Day, The Snub, Good Morning, and Tunnel 3D, along with TV series including Unkind Ladies.
