Asisat Oshoala, the Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Barcelona and the Nigeria women’s national team, has issued a warning to individuals inundating her direct messages (DMs) seeking financial assistance. Using her Snapchat handle, she cautioned against messages citing reasons like childbirth or wedding expenses as excuses for soliciting money.
Oshoala made it clear that while she enjoys engaging with her followers, there are certain situations she won’t tolerate or support, emphasizing instances where people exploit personal situations like “My wife just gave birth, I want to do a wedding.” Following her message, supporters took to social media to express understanding and encouragement for her stance.
