Nollywood actress Eniola Ajao has expressed sympathy for Bobrisky, who was recently arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged naira abuse and mutilation. In a lengthy social media post, Ajao stated that she woke up feeling sad about the situation and appealed to the EFCC for leniency, stating that they have learned their lessons. She also promised that they would stop spraying money.
While expressing her sympathy, Ajao also took the opportunity to promote her controversial movie, “Beast of Two Worlds,” which had previously caused backlash for giving Bobrisky the “Best Dressed” award at its premiere. Ajao hinted at the possibility of a sequel to the movie, albeit with a potential name change. She urged her fans to watch the film in theaters, accompanying her message with a clip from the movie.
The post garnered mixed reactions from netizens, with some accusing Ajao of using Bobrisky’s predicament to advertise her movie rather than genuinely sympathizing. Others criticized her for maintaining ties with Bobrisky after the controversy surrounding the movie premiere.
Ajao had previously apologized to Nigerians for the backlash surrounding the award given to Bobrisky, explaining that it was a publicity stunt to promote her film, for which she had invested all her resources.
