Selena Gomez posted a picture on Instagram and deleted immediately when the picture stirred up controversy and she began receiving backlash from some Muslims from around the world.
The 22-year old singer posed at the Abu Dhabi Grand Mosque, flashing her ankle which is known as a sign of impropriety in Islam. She deleted the picture instantly without any comment.
On the other hand, that is not the first time a celeb will suffer backlash at the Mosque in Abu Dhabi. In 2014, Rihanna also came under attack after taking pictures at the mosque in an area that’s off limits for visitors.
Rihanna and her entourage were subsequently asked to leave the compound entirely.
