Prominent reality star and accomplished singer, Whitemoney, has surprised Nigerians with a recent revelation about his music career during an interview with BBC Igbo. Despite winning BBNaija season 6, Whitemoney admitted that he hasn’t started earning money directly from his music, emphasizing that his focus is on conveying a powerful message through his songs. While he acknowledged that he hasn’t generated revenue from song streams, he highlighted that his income comes from live performances. Furthermore, Whitemoney acknowledged that his singing voice may not be conventionally considered ‘fine,’ but he emphasized that he creates music with a genuine message rather than aiming to please critics.
His words…
“The truth is singing has not started paying me, I do not get money from streaming, but I get money from performances. I do not have the best voice but I have a message and melody.
“People criticise me, even those paid to criticise me, what you need to know is that I do not sing to make you feel fine or please you because you do not feed me or fund my musical career.”
