Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has urged the National Assembly to assist the National Council for Arts and Culture (NCAC) in combating “nudity” on the popular BBNaija reality show.
NCAC has been vocal in its condemnation of the BBNaija reality show, calling for regulatory measures on multiple occasions.
In a statement, MURIC asked lawmakers to empower NCAC to end what it called “nudity” on the show.
The Islamic rights organization stated its support for NCAC Director-General Segun Runsewe’s calls.
“MURIC supports Runsewe’s call, and we see no reason why the NASS won’t give him all the support he needs.” “BBNaija’s reality TV show is the devil incarnate, deceiving Nigerian youth,” the group claimed.
“BBNaija is dragging our young people into a world of nudity, debauchery, and shamelessness.” BBNaija is a serious threat to every home. It is a brazen assault on our cultures, values, and norms. BBNaija is transparent.
“If the NASS listens to Runsewe’s plea, its name will be indelibly carved in gold letters.”
“His appeal has exposed a flaw in our legal system.” It has been revealed that there are no existing laws that are strong enough to prevent romance and sex on our television channels. The time to give the law the teeth to bite is now
