According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the Enugu bound bus with number plate XE 899 FGG failed to stop at crossing as the Iddo bound train was approaching and subsequently rammed into it.

The impact of the resulting collision flung the vehicle with its four passengers – a pregnant woman and three men – to the front of The Christian Dominion Ministry building at 26 Adegbola Street, Anifowoshe.

The occupants of the car were immediately taken to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital by policemen attached to the Railway Police Command, where the pregnant woman later gave up the ghost.

Sources at the Railway Police Command also confirmed that the accident was as a result of impatience of the commercial bus driver.

Our correspondent gathered that a similar incident occurred Monday on same spot, after a train collided with a commercial bus, where several persons reportedly sustained varying degrees of injuries.
