A Thai mother has been accused of killing, cooking and eating her sons because she thought they were pigs, the Daily mail reports.
Police received a complaint last week that the woman, a member of the Musur hill tribe in Thailand’s northernmost district of Chiang Mai, Mae Ai, allegedly“butchered” her two sons, ages 1 and 5, and proceeded to cook and eat them. According to the Bangkok Post, law enforcement officials allegedly found the woman asleep with several body parts littered around her.
The woman was reported to be suffering from mental illness since 2007 but had stayed off her medication for some months.
Medical reports said she was suffering from hallucination, as she believed that someone was coming to hurt her.
All around the world reports of cannibalism seem to be on the increase. While some have been attributed to delusions and mental illness, in Nigeria, cannibalism and its likes are usually linked to rituals for quick money making.
