Governor Uba Sani has responded to the tragic occurrence that took place in the northern city of Zaria, Kaduna state, on Friday, August 11.

Meanwhile, as of Saturday, August 12, eight fatalities and seven injuries have been attributed to the collapse of the Central Mosque in Zaria.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page and seen by Legit.ng on Saturday morning, Governor Uba Sani expressed his condolences to the families of both the deceased and the injured.
Sani penned:
“The horrific event that occurred at the Zaria Central Mosque in Kaduna State has left me feeling really sorry. My heart breaks for the families of those who perished and those who were hurt when the Zaria Central Mosque collapsed.
“I also extend my sincere sympathies to the whole Muslim community as well as the Emir of Zazzau, His Royal Highness Amb. Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, for their tragic deaths. May the All-Merciful Allah grant the dead Jannatul Firdaus and pardon their transgressions.The Kaduna State Government will offer support to everyone impacted by this tragic event. Additionally, we will issue an immediate investigative order to determine what led to this regrettable situation.
