
The prestigious MOBO ‘Music Of Black Origin’ awards would make its return to its land of origin, London, England this year.
The 2014 edition of the awards is the first time MOBO would hold in England in 6 years and the 2014 ceremony will take place at Wembley Arena on October 22.
The Award ceremony was established in 1996 by Kanya King and Andy Ruffell and it has always been held annually in London, United Kingdom to recognise artists of any ethnicity or nationality performing black music.
In 2009, the awards ceremony was held in Glasgow for the first time, in 2011, the ceremony also held in Scotland. In the past, top acts from Nigeria have emerged winners of the prestigious award as 2face Idibia won in 2007, 9ice won in 2008 while it was Wizkid’s turn in 2011 before D’banj won in 2012.
Winners at last year’s ceremony include Tinie Tempah, Wiley, Laura among others.
