Mia Le Roux, the newly crowned Miss South Africa, has decided to withdraw from the Miss Universe competition due to health issues, as announced by the Miss South Africa Organization on Friday. The beauty queen expressed her heartfelt gratitude to her supporters in South Africa, acknowledging that stepping back from the competition was a difficult choice. She shared that this decision allows her to focus on her health, which she sees as essential to fulfilling her duties to her country.
“Making this decision has been incredibly challenging, knowing the dreams and hopes that have been placed upon me. However, I am deeply grateful to have the opportunity to focus on my health and recovery so that I may continue to serve my country with full strength,” she said.
The Miss South Africa Organization fully supported Mia’s decision, emphasizing that her health and well-being are their top priorities. “We stand by her side, dedicated to ensuring she regains her strength and returns to full health. Our hearts are with her as she takes the necessary steps toward recovery,” the organization stated.
Meanwhile, the preliminary rounds of the Miss Universe competition began on Friday in Mexico City, with previous titleholders R’Bonney Gabriel from the USA and Sheynnis Palacios from Nicaragua hosting. The grand coronation is scheduled for November 16.
