Indications from Ondo state are that governor, Dr Olusegun Mimiko, has left his party the Labour Party for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Commissioner for Adult Education in the state, Barrister Remi Olatubora, confirmed the governors’s new status to Naijalog, Friday.
Olatubora said ” I woke up this morning as a LP chieftain but going to bed tonight as a PDP chieftain.”
While the state Commissioner for Information, though more cautious confirmed what seem like the impending defection of Governor Mimiko.
He opined that Mimiko is edging towards decamping after ” serious pressure” from the Leadership of the PDP before and after the Osun governorship election.
Akinmade said that ” for now the governor is still in Labour Party even if he will eventually move he cannot take a unilateral decision on this matter.
He had earlier in the chat said that the governor was consulting with relevant stakeholders across the nation.
