Ex Niger Delta militants yesterday wrecked havoc at the Igbinedon University, Edo State, beheading 2 students, injuring many other and destroying properties worth millions of naira.
The attack which started at about 6:30 in the morning still raged on well late into the night.
The course of the clash could not be immediately ascertained but speculations has it that the ex militants who are also students clashed with other students suspected to be cult members.
According to a student in the school, who spoke anonymously:
“I was safe from the attacks because I don’t stay on campus,” she said. “But apparently, I need to leave for Benin as soon as possible. The militants have said they’re coming back and students are even taking bush paths to escape out of school” the student said.
There are about 200 ex-militants on admission at the Igbinedion University, Okada under the Federal Government amnesty programme.
