Super Eagles head coach, Stephen Keshi, in a media conference on Tuesday, said Nigerian midfielder John Obi Mikel has been ruled out of the Nigeria vs South Africa friendly match scheduled for Wednesday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium due to a stomach bug.
Other players who are being sidelined include Emmanuel Emenike, who needs to settle down in his new club Fenerbahce, goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, and 19-year-old center-back Kenneth Omeruo.
Keshi also announced that Chelsea winger Victor Moses will be returning to the side after missing June’s Confederations Cup in Brazil because of injury.
The match is a warm-up for both countries ahead of key World Cup qualifiers next month.
The Super Eagles were in South Africa six months ago and were crowned Nations Cup winners at the tournament held there.
