Coach Miguel Herrera of Mexico has announced his 23-man squad for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil.
The team is drawn in the same group with Brazil, Cameroon and Croatia in Group A. The inclusion of veteran defender Carlos Salcido is the biggest surprise in the squad list.
The team has majority of the players plying their trade in the domestic league. Neither of Javier Aquino of Villarreal nor Carlos Vela of Real Sociedad were included in the team leaving Javier Hernandez of Manchester United the only prominent European based player in the squad.
The team will be playing their World Cup opener against Cameroon on June 13 in Natal. They qualify to this tournament via a play-off against New Zealand.
