The newly appointed ministers have been tasked by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with creating an inclusive economy for all Nigerians.
At the first Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, which was held on Monday at the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, the President made this statement.
The President asked the cabinet to address the nation’s present, unacceptable unemployment rate as a way of setting the tone for his administration.
President Tinubu also spoke on the high expectations and difficult conditions in the nation, pleading with his cabinet colleagues not to let him and all Nigerians down.
The president cites the unacceptable unemployment rate and the rising threat of climate change as two of his administration’s top worries.
In order to attract investors, Tinubu also urged swift action to overhaul the economy for sustained growth and to strengthen national security.
He also emphasized the importance of leadership while urging the ministers to work together.
