Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members throughout the nation have been encouraged by Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State to steer clear of issues that can split the party and instead concentrate on maintaining its unity.
The governor made these remarks on Saturday in Bauchi at a party retreat for elected officials.
Makinde emphasized that the procedure for repairing the party start right now during his comments during the retreat.
In his speech to the crowd, the governor urged party members to embrace peace and set aside concerns that internal conflict during the general elections might cause a split within the party.
He advised the governors of his colleague’s party to remain united and, more importantly, to plan ahead.
I’d want to end by saying that although governments come and go, our nation never changes. And as a responsible opposition party, we must act when necessary to advance the interests of the country. “If there is no Nigeria, there is no us,” Makinde continued.
