Manchester United have been hit with a major injury blow following reports that Juan Mata might miss the rest of the season due to a groin problem.
Reports in Spain claim that the nifty midfielder had surgery on his groin last Thursday and is expected to miss United’s run-in in the Premier League and Europa League. Mata missed Spain’s international break fixtures due to the injury which was thought to be a minor one, he even took part of Manchester United training last Monday with indications that he might return to the pitch earlier than expected but suffered a setback and might miss the rest of the season through injury.
Ahead of the Red Devils’ game against West Brom, Jose Mourinho is left with a major headache as injuries in his squad continues to pile up. With the likes of Paul Pogba, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling all ruled out for the fixture, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Ander Herrera will also miss the tie through suspension.
