Correspondent-Mumuni Salifu, a 23-year old Beninois has been arrested for murdering a 12-year-old schoolboy at Pomu Village, Volta Region , Ghana.
The suspect reportedly tied the legs and hands of the deceased, Salasie Avi, with a nylon rope from behind and used a machete to severe his head and genitals on April 22, 2012.
After carrying out the dastardly act Mumuni then dumped off the headless body of the lad into the Volta lake.
He however, left the head of the class three pupil in the showglass that he used in hawking pastries for his grandmother.
The deceased was living with the duo of his uncle and grandmother. The two became apprehensive when he failed to return home at the normal time he was expected.
After waiting for 2 hours they organised a search party to look for him, it wasn’t untilo the second day that his headless and gential less body was discovered floating on the Volta.
The fishermen who saw the body immediately alerted the elders of Pomu village, who in turn reported the sighting to the police.
The suspect has since confessed to killing the victim.
