A Court sitting in Katsina, on Wednesday, sentenced a 40 year old man Ahmed Kabir to one year imprisonment for allegedly inserting his finger in the private part of a five-year-old girl.
Kabir pleaded guilty to the charge and asked for leniency, saying he was a first offender. He told the court that he committed the offence because he had no wife.
It was gathered that Kabir lured the girl into his room and committed the act; during which she sustained an injury.
