The Enugu State Command of the Nigerian Police Force has arrested a 33-year-old man identified as, Nkemuakonam Nwoke for allegedly defiling a day old child and 7 other children in the state.
Officer of the Command, Ebere Amaraizu disclosed that the suspect, who resides at No 7 Chief Nwatu street, Emene, is now being interrogated by the operatives of the Emene Police Division over his alleged involvement in a case of multiple defilement of young children between the ages of one to six years”.
“His arrest on 31/07/12 became possible through series of information received from members of the public bothering on the alleged nefarious activities of the suspect who usually capitalize on the absence of parents in the neighbourhood to wreck sexual havoc on children by inviting them to his house to view cartoon network and buy biscuit only to have carnal knowledge with any of them staying behind”
According to Amaraizu, the suspect, “admitted having committed the alleged offence and maintained that he has been in this nefarious activities since three years ago pointing out that he started it when he was living at onitsha Anambra state before moving to Emene where he lives with multiple tenants in the same building that is made up of about thirty rooms”
“Suspect revealed that he hails from Ebonyi state and that he is 33years of age.He further revealed that he has no girl friend and that he finds it difficult to stand before a full grown up women and talk to them hence he chooses to be defiling children to be satisfying his sexual urge.
“When asked if let off the hook whether he will repent and turn a new leaf,he stated that he has been trying to get married so that he can stop the illicit act and however pleaded that he has sinned against God and Humanity and that God should forgive him since he can not understand what has come over him”, the release stated.
Amaraizu stated that “some parents living in the neighbourhood have expressed displeasure over the illicit activities of the suspect on their small children as over eight of them have been defiled”.
”I am not a madman, I don’t take drugs and I don’t have sex with them for ritual purposes, it is just that when I need sex I will look for any child and lure them inside my room and keep them busy with cartoon network while I send others out to go and buy biscuit to enable me operate “stated the suspect. Suspect will however be charged to court after investigations” The suspect allegedly said.
