A Chiredzi father whose insatiable appetite for sex could not be quenched by any other women decided to rape his own daughter.
Peter Bhakela (39) of Farm number 25 Hippo Valley in Chiredzi is being accused of staying with his daughter as wife and was having sexual intercourse with her.
It is the State’s case that sometime in March this year; Bhakela followed his daughter who had gone to stay at farm number 36 after fallout with his father whom he accused of abusing her.
The court heard that Bhakela allegedly beat up his daughter with a stick for running away from home and the complainant sustained injuries all over her body.
The court further heard that whilst, on their way back home, the accused dragged the complainant in a bush and raped her once. Bhakela who was staying alone is said to have continued to have sex with his daughter when they got back home.
When cross examined by Prosecutor Chiedza Chiedzo Muhwandavaka, Bhakela pleads guilty of assaulting his daughter but vehemently denied to have ever raped her.
Magistrate Langton Ndokore ruled that Bhakela, who has been in custody since March this year, be released and proceed to court by way of summons.
