Ghana’s Vice President, Mahamudu Bawumia, the presidential candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has acknowledged defeat in the 2024 elections and extended his congratulations to former President John Mahama.
In a concession speech delivered on Sunday, Bawumia revealed that internal party data indicates the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has emerged victorious in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
The nationwide presidential election took place on Saturday, but the Electoral Commission of Ghana has not yet released the official results.
