Afrobeats artist Babatunde Rahim, popularly known as Lyta, has issued a warning to fans, saying he may stop releasing new music if they don’t support his previous tracks by streaming them.
The former YBNL Nation signee expressed frustration during a recent Instagram live session, revealing that he is facing financial difficulties due to low engagement with his music.
“I can create even better songs, but if you don’t stream the ones I’ve released, I won’t drop anything new,” he said. “I need money. Just look at me, I’m losing weight. I want to gain some weight — let me enjoy your money a bit. If you stream my music, I’ll get back in shape.”
Lyta rose to fame in 2018 after signing with Olamide’s YBNL, but parted ways with the label in May 2019 following a disagreement. Since then, he has openly asked for forgiveness and requested to return to the label, though Olamide declined to re-sign him.
